Let the sun shine
Rain ... Googling what this means again.
Oh yes, those are those wet drops that fall out of the clouds on the earth. Now I remember.
For less, you would forget how rain looks if the last rain shower has fallen almost 5 months ago.
The lack of it is gradually affecting us. How is the almond harvest going this year?
How many olives will appear on our trees? How low is the groundwater in our well in the meantime dropped etc. etc.
Even the succulents in our garden are limited. Everything begs for water.
On a more positive note, the amount of sun we have seen in recent months, is unlikely.
The sun cream has been used since February and since March we have been regularly found on the beach.
Lake of Orcheta
The winter months, and therefore also the rain months, seem to have been skipped and we will immediately dive into the warm spring and soon into the summer.
The sea is warmer than ever before this time of year and beach bars and restaurants have opened earlier to be able to fully benefit from the early sun lovers and bon vivants.
Radio
We recently had one of these bon vivants in our B&B. Now it turned out that this guest is the presenter of a popular Spanish radio program about tourism on the Costa Blanca. And yes... you guessed it... she was very satisfied with her stay with us and thought it was a good idea to let us tell our story in her radio show, together with the mayor! And therefore we were able to tell our immigration and bed and breakfast story on the radio last week! And to be honest, we look proudly on it.
In the meantime we also prepare the house for the real summer. The umbrellas are put down and the swimming pool will be prepared again.
The sun loungers are in place and fridge is again supplemented with soft drinks, wine, Spanish beers and of course also a few Belgian classics such as, Duvel, Tripel Karmeliet and Omer! Plaice, cheers, sante, salud!
